Specialisterne USA has hired its first group of consultants. The six consultants, all with diagnoses on the autism spectrum, are now official Specialisterne USA employees. The new consultants are fresh off the four-week Assessment and Training Entry Program, which took place at the facilities of our founding corporate partner CAI in Delaware.
“It’s really wonderful to see our new consultants at work, making valuable contributions to the labor market,” says Thorkil Sonne, Specialisterne Founder. “Our goal is to create one million jobs for people with autism and similar disorders, and every hire takes us one step closer to achieving that goal.”
The six consultants were the first to complete the Assessment and Training Entry Program in the US. The first part of the program made intense use of LEGO Mindstorms Robot technology and Scrum as a framework for developing solutions to tackle an actual issue for the community. Specialisterne USA chose The Aging Population as the theme and came up with innovative solutions on how to use robot technology to improve quality of life for wheelchair-bound seniors.
The second part of the program focused on establishing a production environment in which Specialisterne USA can help the State of Delaware Department of Health and Social Services with data services such as scanning, indexing and data entry, enabling the state to get fast access to reliable data statewide.
The next Assessment and Training Entry program will begin on July 8 with seven new trainees.
